⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nature-Inspired Engineering for Lab-Grade Results.

Our Homeostatic Incubators blend the wisdom of nature with the precision of modern engineering. By replicating the natural rise-and-fall temperature cycles found in wild nests—and combining them with advanced cooling, heating, and airflow systems—we deliver laboratory-level stability in a system designed for real-world reptile breeding. The result is consistent, powerful hatch rates and stronger, more vigorous babies, exactly the way nature intended.
Because the beginning of a reptile’s life should be nothing short of exceptional.

Wilbanks Homeostatic Incubators™

Our new incubators are unlike anything currently on the reptile market. Homeostasis refers to the ability to maintain stable internal conditions despite changes in the external environment—and that’s exactly what these units do. The Wilbanks Homeostatic Reptile Incubator actively heats or cools as needed to hold your exact set temperature, creating the ideal environment for reptile egg incubation or reptile hibernation.

✨ Features

  • 🔒 Locking glass doors

  • 🌡️ Digital thermostat with constantly monitored temperature display

  • 💡 Integrated LED lighting

  • 🔄 Air circulation system with activated carbon filtration

  • 🔥❄️ Active heating and cooling for true temperature stability

🦎🪺 Incubate

Our incubators will reliably incubate any reptile species with precision accuracy—holding your set point regardless of what’s happening in the room.

  • ❄️🔥 Cools as well as heats, allowing placement anywhere (even in a hot warehouse).

  • 🦎 For temperature-sensitive species like Chahoua Geckos, where sex is determined by incubation temperature (72°F for females), placement is no longer an issue.

  • 🌡️ When eggs generate excess heat late in development, the incubator automatically corrects the internal temperature—no more cracking the door and losing control.

With our homeostatic technology, your eggs will incubate at the exact temperature at every stage of development.

⚙️🔥❄️ How Our Homeostatic Incubators Work

Unlike traditional proportional thermostats that fight constantly to hold a perfectly flat temperature line, our Homeostatic Incubators use an average incubation process that more closely mirrors what happens in nature.

Here’s how it works:

  • 🌡️ Rises to the set point

The incubator gently heats or cools to reach your desired incubation temperature.

  • 🌙 Gradual natural cooldown

Once the set point is reached, the temperature is allowed to slowly drift down about 3°F, just like reptile nests experience in the wild.

  • 🔁 Returns back to the set point

The unit then gradually warms back up, creating a smooth, natural cycle—not a constant, unnatural temperature like a proportional thermostat forces.

  • 🌍 Mimics natural nesting conditions

Nature is not proportional. Eggs in the wild constantly experience small rises and falls in temperature. These micro-fluctuations stimulate stronger embryonic development.

Through years of testing across thousands of clutches, we’ve discovered that this natural temperature rhythm results in stronger, more vigorous babies—exactly the way nature intended.

❄️ Hibernate

Many colubrids require a winter cooling period to breed successfully. Traditionally, keepers use garages or outdoor spaces—risking dangerous temperature swings.

With our incubators, you can:

  • ❄️ Set a perfect hibernation temperature (e.g., 55°F)

  • 📦 Place your rack tubs inside the incubator

  • 🛡️ Hibernate animals safely, without fear of overheating or freezing

  • 🔁 Even do off-season cycling, allowing hibernation in summer

  • 🥚 Use the same unit to hatch the resulting eggs

🌱 Propagate

Many species require cooler or highly specific temperatures that are difficult—or impossible—for most keepers to maintain consistently.

Examples include:

  • 🐉 Fire Salamanders (mid-50s to mid-60s)

  • 🦗 Various insects

  • 🐸 Reptiles and amphibians with unique environmental needs

This incubator opens the door to propagating species that previously had prohibitive temperature requirements.

📝 Note from Mike Wilbanks

When I first started in the reptile business, I wanted to project an image of quality—and that meant always wanting the best equipment available. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a true professional-level incubator on the market. Like many keepers, I built my own.

Years later, after hatching thousands upon thousands of reptiles and studying what actually happens during successful incubation, I realized that nature does not hold a constant temperature. In the wild, eggs experience gentle rises and falls throughout the day, and those natural micro-fluctuations help produce stronger, more vigorous babies.

One of the biggest challenges I faced with older incubators was heat buildup when they were packed full. I used to crack the door just to let heat escape, but this sacrificed control and led to swings that were anything but natural. Those big fluctuations could cause developmental issues, and I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s why our new design uses a homeostatic average-incubation approach. The incubator gently rises to your set point, then allows a controlled, natural 3°F drop before returning back to temperature. This creates a smooth temperature rhythm—the same type of subtle cycle reptile eggs experience in nature, not the rigid, flat line of a proportional thermostat.

This system gives you the best of both worlds:

  • Stability and predictability, without harsh artificial temperature locking

  • Natural incubation cycles, proven to produce stronger babies

  • Elimination of runaway heat when the incubator is fully loaded

Beyond the performance, these incubators look incredible. Aesthetics have always been important to me. The clean lines, glass doors, and prominent temperature display tell anyone who walks into your reptile room that you’re serious about your craft and dedicated to giving your animals the best environment possible.

  • I’m extremely proud of these incubators, and I truly believe they set a new standard for professional reptile breeding. Thank you all for your support over the years.

Important: Calibrate Your New Wilbanks Incubator.

During the shipping process the calibration of the thermostat can come out of adjustment. So, when you receive your new incubator it is imperative that you calibrate the thermostat. It is easy and can be done in a few simple steps.

  1. After unboxing allow the incubator to stand for at least 1 hour before plugging it in to the electric outlet.
  2. Plug in the incubator and set your desired temperature.
  3. Place the thermometer on the second shelf down.
  4. Close the door and allow the incubator to stabilize and come up to temperature for 4 hours.
  5. Check the temperature of the accurate thermometer and note how this compares to the chamber display temperature (right).
  6. For instance if your thermometer reads 87°F and the left chamber display temp reads 89°F, you will need to adjust the calibration -2°F.
Entering
Calibration Mode

7. Hold down the up and down adjustment for 3 seconds.

8. The left number will flash "0" from the factory.

Adjusting
Calibration

9. While the "0" is flashing on the left, push either the up or the down arrow to adjust the calibration.

10. In our example we would adjust down until -2°F is displayed. This will adjust the themerature of the thermostat down by 2°F to accuratly calibrate it.

11. After you have completed calibration it is good practice to perform all of these steps again to ensure you have your incubator completely accurate.
